We went with Silvia and her daughter Olivia to a falegnameria, a carpentry, or cabinet maker works, Olivia needing to order a cabinet made.
where, outside, we found some citrus trees in the crowded yard of the workshop

What had caught my eye was this interesting approach to 'layering' —
a plastic 600ml sized soft drink bottle around a branch,
the bark of the branch had been gently cut with four cuts along the length, slightly lifted by tiny pieces of wood, enclosed in the bottle, bottle filled with soil, bottle wrapped against light,
all supported by a stake, kept watered for two or three months, any time from spring,
roots developed in that time, ready for planting.
